Sandeep Giri

Teacher · Technologist · Founder

I am the founder of Terno AI and CloudxLab. My work is at the intersection of artificial intelligence, education and the philosophy of building useful things.

Before founding my own companies, I worked at D. E. Shaw, Amazon and InMobi — on large-scale data systems, recommendation engines and machine learning. I studied at IIT Roorkee, where I co-founded IMG, the student technology group that ran many of the campus's online systems.

Through CloudxLab, I have taught hundreds of thousands of learners. That experience shaped what I call Learning by Inventing — a way of teaching that guides people toward discovering ideas themselves, rather than simply receiving them.

I write about AI and what it means for how human beings think, about teaching and the nature of understanding, about building products people can trust, and about ideas that challenge things we rarely question.

Terno AI
An AI data scientist for enterprises

Terno AI lets business users ask questions about their data in plain language and get reliable, reproducible answers — because the AI generates and executes analytical code rather than producing plausible-sounding text. It is designed to run securely inside a customer's own environment.

Learning by Inventing
Teaching through guided discovery

Rather than starting with a formula or an answer, I design sequences of simple problems that lead a learner toward discovering the idea themselves. When you discover something, it becomes genuinely yours — and your confidence as a thinker changes along with it.

I enjoy conversations with learners, educators, founders and researchers working on meaningful things at the intersection of AI and human possibility. If something here resonates, I would be glad to hear from you — reach out or book a 30-minute call.
